GRAME and ¡°mixed music¡±

Grame is one of seven centers labeled " Centre National de Creation Musicale " by the French Ministry of Culture. It was created in 1982 by James Giroudon & Pierre-Alain Jaffrennou and is since one of the most dynamic places in the landscape of contemporary music in France. In particular, Grame produces the "Biennale Musiques en Scene " which in France is one of three major festivals dedicated to contemporary music.
The conference will present various facets of Grame in emphasis on the biennial "Musiques en Scene" and on "sound installations", an area where Grame was a precursor.
Will also be studied through sound examples, "mixed music" which mixes instrumental music and technological systems, which is a trademarks of Grame.
